I sit and ponder my solitary existence

In hours only acquainted by bats

Darkness envelopes my shaky body

A lonely response, no accompanying touch

A hollow hauling wind beseeches me

A tormenting echo for a musical note

Ears tuned to constant interference

Enclosed loop of confusion

Endless deafening sonant silence

Defending the nightly nature shifts

To rest the day’s light away

Recovery a respected ritual

A hoo hoo for a dawn chorus

A daunting flash light to welcome the day

An end to an undiscovered adventure

As the night keeps its secrets intact
